I Am Challenged
I am going to try this challenge here presented by Burda and Rowenta.
On the season opener of Project Runway season eight the contestant had to take and item of clothing from a fellow contestants suitcase and transform it into something fashion forward. That is what this challenge is through Burda.
I can't wait! Below you will see pictures of what I am starting with - a dress given to me by my Aunt while lovely still a little dated and old for me (sorry Aunt S. - love you!). I have already designed what I am going to do with it and while I am not going to fully reveal it to you all until Friday, October 1 I will be sharing some of what I do as I go.
Here is what I am starting with:
Stay tuned to see how this dress will transform!
EDIT: DUE TO CONTEST RULES I WILL NOT BE ENTERING BUT I AM STILL DOING THE CHALLENGE FOR MYSELF.

Sew So Simple First Post
Welcome!
This blog is going to have sewing tips, neat ideas, sew a longs, instructional videos plus so much more! I look for to hearing input and sharing ideas!
I am a self-taught sewer and quite proud of myself. Up until three years ago the only thing I could sew was put a button on (even that was questionable) then I started watching the seamstress at work and learned a lot. I started going online checking things out and discovered a passion. I had this old Viking machine that I loved UNTIL it blew up. Really - the bobbin came flying out and across the room, it started smoking and I got scared not only was it all up in smoke but how was I going to sew again? My husband solved that by buying me a brand new machine that I loved. I have since graduated through few more machines but I still have that one.
Slowly, I have learned to make my own patterns, how to use fabrics and design my own clothing. I don't proclaim to be the best but I do wish to share tips, patterns and other stuff I have picked up a long the way. I am quite excited about this blog and I hope you all will enjoy it!
